Authentication
Quick Meeting Links requires authentication with your Google account to:
- Access your Google Calendar
- Create and manage calendar events
- Generate Google Meet links
The extension uses Google's secure OAuth 2.0 protocol for authentication, ensuring your data remains protected.
Operating Modes
1. With Entry Mode
Creates both a calendar event and a Meet link. Ideal for scheduled meetings where you want to:
- Set specific date and time
- Have the meeting appear in your calendar
- Send calendar invitations to participants
2. No Entry Mode
Generates only a Meet link without creating a calendar event. Perfect for:
- Quick, impromptu meetings
- When you don't need calendar tracking
- Instant video calls
3. Duo Mode
Creates two synchronized calendar entries:
- Main calendar: Contains the actual meeting with the Meet link
- Secondary calendar: Stores meeting details and link for easy reference
Perfect for scenarios with shared calendars where meeting hosts might differ from event creators. For example:
- Create an event in a shared calendar for visibility
- Store the Meet link separately so a moderator can start the meeting
- Solve the common issue where non-organizers can't admit participants to meetings
This mode ensures smooth meeting management while maintaining proper calendar organization.
